• Blue Screens shortly after exiting certain games

Lately, I've been getting the BSOD after exiting either Left 4 Dead or Splinter Cell: Conviction I have no idea if it's because of overheating, but if it was, then I'd expect it to happen during the game rather than shortly after. Any ideas?
What is the code for the bsod? That would be really helpful to know.
pleasy write down the bsod code if you don't know how to find it here is how to recognize it:
Make sure to get down the info where it says ati3diag.dll. that not might by your issue but that is really what causes the issue. It should be in the same relative area.
Blue Screens flash off of the screen within a second of being on-screen. I can't read the codes.
Blue Screens flash off of the screen within a second of being on-screen. I can't read the codes.
Mash f8 as your computer starts, and then select "disable restart on system failure"
with some motherboards it's a dirent button. i alway's press all my f1-f10 keys also you can use delete (thanks lody \/ )
delete?
The only variable I found was "STOP: 0x0000000080."
what version of windows do you have? what i think is that something is terminating winlogon.exe, or somethign similar to that name, try rooting out all of the stuff that you don't use in taskmanager, then see if it still happeneds, if it doesn't, use services.msc/msconfig (in the run box) to take out the stuff you don't need. [editline]02:34PM[/editline] can you make a picture of your BSOD next time that gives me more info because i can't do very much with this info...
I disabled automatic restart so that I can get more info on it. I think that L4D might not have caused a BSOD. I think it's iTunes. Yesterday when I was using iTunes, I tried playing a song and my PC just crashed. I'll play Splinter Cell to see if it keeps doing this.
Possibly an audio driver needs updating. Or itunes might need an update/repair.
I got one a little earlier today as soon as I put in the GTA IV disk. *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x8D13C6CF, Ox803EC20D, 0x00000000) *** cdrom.sys - Address 8D13C6CF base at 8D137006, DateStamp 49e01ef5 This is getting confusing. First it happened after exiting L4D(actually, I think it was just because I went into iTunes), then Splinter Cell Conviction, and then it happened while trying to play GTA IV.
Cdrom.sys is something to do with one of your cd rom drives. Try taking any cds out of all your cd drives and see if the crashes still occur
It sounds like you might be trying to play music from a CD while playing a game. Could be wrong, but that might be causing the issue.
Update the driver for your CD drive?
bsod is often a indication of a hardware failure. you can download varuis hardware testers online.
It seems that Grand Theft Auto IV want's to jump on the bandwagon. I got a blue screen from that fucker after closing it. The only ting I could find was "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT." I'm guessing that's a sign that 2GB of Ram is complete shit.
i think your hardware is broken you can test it with a hardware testing software. i already told you this.
This is really ticking me off. First Left 4 Dead acted up, then iTunes, then Conviction, then my RAM, and NOW win32k. I blame my father. He built this computer and it's been buggy ever since 2006. He never stopped the BSODs. They just kept coming back. But I'm sure that my parents are going to be way too stubborn to get me something worth at least $700 rather than something that's only worth $400.
Run a memtest 86+ and see if you get errors.
Disconnect your optical drive
