Hey, I have been using a logitech ball mouse for a while, and it has been working good up untill a week ago. I can double click, but sometimes the left click doesnt work and I have to click a few times for it to work. Its really annoying when I am dragging something. It will release too. Everything else seems ok, but my left click is annoying me. sometimes the button will hold by itself, untill I click a few times. The button feels fine. Any help?
I cleaned it out, same problem
Get a new mouse, it's a good excuse to upgrade to an optical mouse.
Take the mouse apart and clean out any dirt build-up. Or upgrade to a modern mouse.
Yeah, you should probably just get a newer mouse.
It's just died of old age.
Spend 10 bucks and get an optical laser mouse.
If you want to keep your old mouse, you need to clean it up. Unless you want to get rid of that piece of old junk, buy a new one :)

Bad microswitch. Either
1) Purchase an Omnicron microswitch (or get it from an older mouse, the pins normally match anyways) and repair it yourself. Note, this requires soldering skills.
2) Buy a new mouse
3)
Im back, sorry for the bump. It looks like its a bit better, but I wont buy any other kind of mouse besides a ball mouse. I grew up with them
I have cleaned it out, maybe it is just failing. I will have to shell out 20 bucks eventually I guess :(
This is the kind:

I seriously don't see how people can frag and such with those. I would suggest a 5000+ DPI laser mouse.
