I'm looking to buy a pair of over the ear headphones for Chrimmas. I'm looking for a durable pair that will last long, and also can be quite loud. Budget: $150 Requirements: Durable, good bass quality, good sound insulation Thank you!
ATH-M50s are a great entry-level headset that retails around 150-200. they are frequently on massdrop for $100 a piece. bass is lacking, though. overall great quality in constructiond though
I do need some good bass. Budget can be up to $150 now, with black Friday coming up.

If you really want durability and you like in-ears; get a couple pairs of SoundMagic E30's (you could probably fit 3 pairs in to $100) they will last you forever and they sound pretty good for the price. Of course the ATH-M50's are going to sound better at $150. They are a bit on the tame side, being the only headphones I have ever owned that aren't fatiguing. I've had mine for months now, they might as well still be brand new. [editline]23rd November 2014[/editline] Oh, if you are looking at $150 then maybe don't buy these.
I'm looking for over the ear headphones, sorry!

I like good bass because I listen for the drum tracks of songs a lot :v: [editline]22nd November 2014[/editline] Although, they seem really good, and I'll probably get them! Thanks facepunch! If anyone else has experience with these headphones, that would be awesome!
the m50's are great, but if you prefer comfort i would actually grab a pair of AD700x.
M50s seem to come highly recommended by just about anyone. I have a pair myself and can confirm their awesomeness. They're durable as well, and have decent isolation. I've got an active family of 9 people and due to lack of AC I have to have a loud fan on in my room. The headphones don't eliminate this, but they do make it harder to hear by about half as much, and with sound playing I can't hear anyone or anything else really. I've had several audio devices that have weird sort of white noise when not playing any audio, and that's not present here. No audio sources, dead silence. They're a pretty good fit and very opposable. The ears rotate in any direction you want, and you can extend the length of the headphones. The top part does kind of hurt a bit but you get used to it and after a day or so of wearing them I don't really have any discomfort, at least none that you wouldn't get with any pair of headphones. I've put these through their paces on durability through a series of unfortunate accidents in the past week or so, but they're still working fine. I'm a little paranoid that I've somehow damaged the sound quality, but that's very likely just me being paranoid, I don't think that's a thing with any headphones whatsoever. I would still, of course, recommend treating them with the up-most carefulness and whatnot, they may be durable but they're headphones, not a tank, y'know? Don't want to deal with the consequences of fucking them up. Overall they're a sturdy, quality pair and I highly recommend you buy em.
