Hello, i have always been wondering, what the hell is SVCHOST. I noticed that it usually uses alot of ram but when im playing it goes down, and now, the other. I noticed something one day, i was playing a game for like 10 hours without closing it and when i closed it, guess what.. MY RAM USAGE WAS 625 MB ON VISTA, i was like :O... Cant be true, and it stayed there for a while untill.... SVCHOST then it boosted up to its normal 1.4 gb ram usage..

When Vista starts up it goes through 2 stages 1: Required application and driver initiation 2: Caching of certain things, like Explorer windows and frequently used applications to ram Vista will allways be using a shitload of ram at first startup but when applications need the ram more it adjusts to suit the performance requirements SVCHOST is for things like Network, Hardware and software, and is not malware at all. Expect at least 6 Instances for Vista and 3 for XP
