Hi, im in grade 11, I have a quick question, i'm reviewing for a test and one of the questions is (This is functions btw) get the inverse of y=2|x|-5 the answer says it's x=2|y|-5 but why isn't it, x/2+5=|y| because aren't you supposed to isolate y?
They're both the same answer, except the 5 has to be 5/2. Rated box. [editline]10:09AM[/editline] (x+5)/2 [editline]10:10AM[/editline] Fuck I just woke up, took me 3 edits to fix a spelling error.

Order of operations states that you must subtract/add before you divide/multiply before simplifying a side ( to keep it simple). x=2|y|-5 x+5=2|y| (x+5)/2=|y|
so for simplifying eqn's bedmas is backwards? SAMDEB :P
Lurk more.
why dount you shut up and study instead of browsing on facepunch, dumbass
