• Lagging while watching HD video

I watched a youtube video in 1080p HD for the first time due to bandwidth trouble, and it lagged, badly. i'm on a GTS 250 1gb vram and a 3.00 ghz C2D with 4GB DDR2 RAM. Another problem i have is lagging on Fallout 3 on low settings. any thing you could do to help me out? also, i tried overclocking my GPU, i got it to 800mhz on the core, and it made no difference. I have also taken the time to overclock my C2D to 3.45 ghz and my RAM to 800Mhz. Still no change.
Your problem can be either in RAM, or poor system maintenance. By specs, your PC should be running fine. For maintenance:

Run a system cleanup. Use CCleanerp.
Defragment your PC. Use Defraggler
Clean your registry. Unsure on a tool to use.. CCleaners registry cleaner does an alright job.
Update drivers. For your card, use Nvidia's website. It'll be under the support tab.
Go through the Device Manager (Startbar, type in devmgmt.msc and hit enter, if on XP: go the start menu and go to run) and look for any devices that have a caution (yellow) or problem (red) sign on their icons. If any do appear, please post here
Tell me if that yields any results. [editline]7th February 2011[/editline] Also, to amend to my previous post. You may want to dust out your PC. Buy some compressed air (You can find it at best buy, or any other electronics store) and dust out the interior. Do this when the computer is off to avoid any problems with the fans.
