Nice. Wasn't expecting vehicles to be in this and they look pretty fun to drive already.
Don't you think you guys are working on too many things at once? From what I can see there's 8-9 titles in development, if not more.

It's kinda the point, It's highly doubtful that every single prototype they make will make it into a full game, it's more of a way to test gameplay ideas and technology.

According to Garry's blog, it's better to work on a prototype than things like concept art, which is a pretty solid basis to work on. Making tonnes of detailed concepts only for them to fail when put into practice is worse than a few prototypes that can be canned quick if they aren't fun. You get more practical feedback from a prototype game than you do from concepts. It's likely there are plenty of Facepunch Prototypes that haven't made it to us because they weren't fun to play.

FP staff are allowed to work on whatever they want

This is a fairly common thing for studios to do these days (especially studios with loads of money), and really the way games should be developed since it prioritizes the gameplay loop.
Supercell gave a talk on this subject and has made like 30 game prototypes over the last year 10 years, but only like 10 made it to even alpha and only 4 ended up being released.
Alright, I don't know much about game development so sorry about that.
I'd rather scrap a new game every week if it's shit than to spend 10 years making a game in silence and finding out everyone thinks it's shit on release.

GTA:IV driving only a lot less traction
So whats the end goal of this game? General FPS game with cars and shit?

Piecing together bits of gameplay elements (money, buying / upgrading buildings, vehicles) it's feeling like a procedurally generated mob war
Different groups trying to build up their own operation in a sprawling city while fucking up anyone stepping on their turf. Sounds fun as fuck :v:

That sounds horrid.

A Subrosa successor would be pretty tight

Seeing how they cancelled rust for this I dont think so
well the car looks to be too light, add more weight to it and traction.
This is easily my fave prototype so far tbh
So they basically implemented cars faster than the DayZ team ever can? Jokes, nice job though. Really enjoyed trying it out when I played it. Looking forward to more guys, keep up the good work!
