Ok so i've been having this problem for about a week now so i sent it off to the "Tech-Guys" at PCwolrd, they just cleaned up some of the cookies but its still broke!
I keep getting a "Nvidia Drivers have crashed(?) but have fully recovered" and sometimes the whole screen goes black, then switches on but everythings messed up and you can only see the toolbar. I get that mostly when i try to play youtube videos. Please help!
I have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 with version 259.31.
Please Help!
You can try getting older drivers.
my problem was that it was overheating, open up your pc and check for lint.
I've just checked on the Nvidia website and it says they have new drivers, im currently installing them.
Any help is appreciated

It doesnt happen when im trying to run any games, just randomly.
Gpuz will allow you to log relevant data to file, or, you can monitor temperature in realtime through hwmonitor.

Ok, got em. So what temperature is normal?

all of them look fine, the value is at its min on all of them.
Depends on your computer, best thing would be to let the monitoring run in the background and wait until crash occurs. Then, we can correlate any discrepancies in the log with the crash and hopefully, gain some insight into the issue.
From what I have found, maximum temperature under load should be between 50-80C, depending on the fan used, ergo the specific model of the GT 220.
Pretty pissed that the "Tech-Guys" Didnt sort this out.
If you want to do some stress testing, furmark should do nicely.

Ok, so it is the temperature. Ive opened it up and tried to blow some of the dust out with a hairdryer on cold. I'll probably need a pressured air canister, am i right?
Anyway, do you think this is the main problem for my overheating issue?
Yes. Dust is usually what causes overheating. I recently took apart my PC and cleaned all of the dust out. CPU went from 30c to 20c. GPU from 65c idle to 45c idle.
