guess it was too much to ask for them to finish space engineers first
RIP space engineers
Im pretty damn excited I love base building. And you guys should not worry about space engineers theyve been updating that game pretty damn well while also making this game.
guess it was too much to ask for them to finish space engineers first
They consist of a large enough team to work on more projects. This is their second game in space so they went to try something a bit different. Also just read this before commenting further "But this will affect SE" http://blog.marekrosa.org/2015/01/medieval-engineers_22.html [editline]13th January 2015[/editline] Everything you see right now was made in just 4 months

What I want to know is if the structures can collapse? Like in Red Faction Guerrilla.
What I want to know is if the structures can collapse? Like in Red Faction Guerrilla.
Yep!
Realistic physics – structural integrity, destructible objects (everything: from blocks to terrain), real proportions, volume, mass, storage capacity, integrity
That cracking of the walls looks so satisfying. I wish we got a next-gen Red Faction. :c
Awesome, really. Two separate teams for the games as well.
There's an interview with one of the devs in a video linked on their channel. It answers a lot of questions, and reveals where the devs hope to go with it. Super nifty stuff. They talk about how structural integrity will play a part, and how gravity applies to all blocks- including the static structure blocks. They also talk about being able to place more than one block in a single block's space, unlike Space Engineers.
Goddamn, these guys are really good. They have only just announced the game and they practically already have a playable game to show for it.
It looks good, but just building isn't going to cut it. I hope it'll have some sort of AI integration, perhaps building a castle to counter AI sieges or stuff like that. Well, or a survival gamemode, I'd be all over a survival game that's not that much building oriented and just gives me parts to assemble. But it doesn't appear like this is this games aim.
Understandable, but the devs have a pretty bad history to be fair.
That's a completely understandable statement. However, I would argue that the amount of effort that they've put into Space Engineers can make up a bit of the bad rep that came from Miner Wars.
This thread reminds me of that time when Facepunch Studios announced a new game that was early in development, Rust Kiddies started crying because they thought it meant Rust was cancelled, and everyone justifiably made fun of them.

Hopefully the last time as well.
Clever, and likely going to be a shit ton of fun just like Space Engineers.
guess it was too much to ask for them to finish space engineers first

RIP space engineers
It's the Rust kids complaining about Garry working on a second game all over again.
This will probably be more up my alley then SE, I bought that then played it for maybe a hour before giving up. Althought I bought it like a year ago, so I'm not sure how much has changed gameplay wise.
