I have been looking for a answer but no prevail I was thinking Hdmi cable something like. Also I was thinking maybe I could use it on my laptop Inspiron N1712 what do you guys think??
hdmi to vga
or those
component to vga cables
could you show me a link to buy it or something like that
Nope you can't use your laptop, unless you get a helluva expensive card for it, and that it has a Expresscard slot.
Just suck it up and buy a 1080P High Definition monitor with HDMI.
But you PROBABLY can use a ordinary computer monitor with a special cable with a VGA output, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
You'd still need a separate source to play the audio though.

snakeoil or fuckexpensive converterbox that probably also introduces screen latency to the mix.
I am trying to find what you said but can't I don't know why
Every single laptop I have seen only has an output and no input, I'd suggest what Van-man said.
Also HDMI is digital and VGA is Anolog, the converter box can cost more than the converter can sometimes cost more than a good screen iirc.
If you have an HDCP compliant monitor, you can use an HDMI-DVI cable (check monoprice)
if not, you're going to have to invest in some grey area legal hdcp stripper and/or vga converter thing which is all around just a shit idea
a desktop PC tv capture card is the easiest, most straightforward way
best way I think right http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5ynmnxM0Uc&feature=related

Yes, you are correct, that is exactly what I said.
Good job.

There's noticeable latency with pretty much all TV capture cards.
And you DON'T want that when the video source is a game console.
