I'm currently homeschooled, and long story short it's boring as shit and I have no life outside my computer.
Just vote yes or no, which ever gets more votes will most likely sway my opinion.
I find public school over here to be generally lacking education.
But i don't know what home schooling is like.
You should. It's a fantastic way to make new friends, and it gives you something to do while not at home. But, if you prefer staying at home then that's fine too. I always liked it more anyway.

My education is pretty much my mom ordering me the textbooks for my grade and me doing some work from it every day.
Being in a public school (or even a private school) allows you to get used to being around other people and working with them. So if you want to prepare yourself for the future or get a social life, then yes.

Then do it.
You could always drop out and go back to home schooling.
It's really nice if you can find people to hang out with.
You really do need to go to public school.
If you have no social skills you'll be fucked for the future.
I was homeschooled for two years. It was nice, but the consequences of not having a social life for two years sucked. I had to work extra hard to learn the new social system. Finally nailed it, now I'm one of the most popular kids in my grade.

I dunno, I'm homeschooled and my social life is pretty decent. In fact, my parents wish i would spend more time doing more 'constrictive' things instead of hanging out with friends.

That's what I thought.

The general consensus so far is definitely do it. I'll wait a few days.
I fucking hated my school.
I'm not acting like a typical child, i just got bullied from the day i started till the day i finished.
Most of my friends who were homeschooled then came to public school suddenly got really mean and hated me...
It will be extremely hard to make friends and develop a social life but keep at it and eventually you will be a normal kid again.
Really depends on where you are.
Throughout my life, I've been in 4 private schools and a public one. I learned and had a better social life in the public school.
Also have "friends" from the private ones and they say they're pure bullshit.
Yet I know a few people from across the country (Brazil) that said that the local private ones were incomparably better than the public.

That's what you think
Homeschooling is seriously stupid IMO. eventually you will be exposed to the real world. why make that transition harder by protecting your children from drugs, alcohol and sex.

Some homeschoolers are actually pretty fucked up, probably from all the repression or parents who don't care. Luckily I have parents who are balanced, would understand if I did stupid things.
Though I wish I would spend less time in front of my computer.
You will definitely benefit from public school. You will find good friends, teachers, and experiences not available in homeschool. Ben, what grade are you in, just curious? Theres no guarantee you wont meet dickheads, but the amount of fun and companions you'll make minimizes the cons. :buddy:
I wish you good luck, this can be a serious turning point for you. :)
Think very carefully about how you want your public school experience to be. If you are a normal person/reasonably attractive/funny you have a chance of showing up out of nowhere at your public school becoming popular and owning the shit out of the place.

I can be funny, I'm not the most attractive person on the planet, but I'm not ugly as fuck. I'm reasonably normal I guess, I like and play video games a lot more than a 'normal' person would, but that's pretty much the only abnormality off the top of my head.
hey, depends what your looking for.
I've done the same thing you are doing- i was in public school from 1-7th grade, then my parents hated the education system, so they homeshcooled me for the 8th grade. Now, im going back to a public high school, because it would be wierd being homeschooled during high school. (im going to be a freshman this year, which is why im switching) Anyway,
-Homeschooling does offer a better education ( i take it your doing K-12, as that is the most common online school, like i did)
But homeschooling is lonley, unless you do other things to meet people ( i've played soccer for 10 years, and just got back from a 6 day long camp 6 states away)
-Public schools are more social, but lack teachers who are really want to teach. Most of them have to teach because they can not do anything else with their lives.
I'd say- Stay with homeschool, but do something to meet other people, UNLESS your going into highschool. (becoming a freshman later this year)
No, fuck public school. You will not learn shit there compared if your parents taught you the same material.
No, fuck public school. You will not learn shit there compared if your parents taught you the same material.
but you will learn social skills which your parents cannot teach you
everyone I've met that have been homeschooled have been unable to socialize effectively.
go to public school so you don't immediately enter the work world as a socially retarded creep. it's pretty cool to have friends.
Yes, you should.
You'll get friends.

How many friends do you have?
[editline]07:00PM[/editline]
I have 20+. I had like, 1 or 2 when I was homeschooled.
How many friends do you have?
Facespace says I have 131.
That you see often. Not Facebook/MySpace.
[editline]07:03PM[/editline]
I have 150+ on Facebook, my dad has 5000. Those aren't people you see often.
That you see often. Not Facebook/MySpace.
I'd say maybe like 30-40ish.
Public School is fucking awesome. Well.. I never really got bullied at all or had any problems.. probably because I knew a lot of people so no one really had the balls but if you have friends it's fun to see them everyday and have classes with them. If you are social it'll be great.. if not then don't bother, you'll make yourself depressed.
