• Cat is stuck inside of a locked room - what the fuck do I do?!

Okay. So today when I was taking my vacuum out of the closet in my house, my cat lurked into the room. I shut the door, and for whatever fucking reason, the door locked. The window leading into the room is locked as well. I'm thinking of completely prying the knob off of the door to get her out. I don't fucking know how to pick locks and anything I got on the internet about picking locks have some fucking idiot explaining how to do it. Again, I'm soon about to completely pry the knob off of the door. We have no key to the door -- god knows where it went.
Household locks are easy to pick
Get a screwdriver and a bobby pin.
You could always kick the door down.
Get a screwdriver and a bobby pin.
Will a bent paperclip do? And if so, tell me what position I can bend it into. I don't think I have any bobby pins lying around.
If there are any screws on the knob assembly, trying disassembling it.
You could always kick the door down.
Mom already said not to do damage to the actual door itself. She said I can get the knob off though, and quote on quote "Fuck the lock" :v:
Get a good old axe and chop the door down. "HERE'S JOHNNY!"
What level is the lock? On a srs note: Poor kitty. You don't have any other way? Parents?
Before you do that, can you try removing the pins from the hinges? If thats not possible then yeah, you'll probably just have to lockpick or remove the knob.
Before you do that, can you try removing the pins from the hinges? If the door gets damaged, that'll put me into more shit.
Will a bent paperclip do? And if so, tell me what position I can bend it into. I don't think I have any bobby pins lying around.
Hes making a Fallout joke, real lockpicking doesn't work that way.
If there are any screws on the knob assembly, trying disassembling it.
The screws are hidden away. Prying the knob completely off with a screwdriver is the last resort.
ok is it a privacy lock or a actual lock
Hes making a Fallout joke, real lockpicking doesn't work that way.
Oh, for fucks sakes.
I CANNOT under any circumstances do damage to the actual door itself. Fuck the knob, fuck the lock. If the door gets damaged, that'll put me into more shit.
Usually you can just remove the pins and replace them.
Unscrew the hinges of the door? :v: Wait, That wouldn't work. Depends which side the hinges are on :v:
ok is it a privacy lock or a actual lock
It's both, I'd say. You turn a slider on the knob on the OTHER side, and it locks. There's a keyhole on the front in case of emergencies. the key is missing.
Undo the pins in the door and pull the door of the hinges?
Unscrew the hinges of the door? :v: Wait, That wouldn't work. Depends which side the hinges are on :v:
Can you take a wild fucking guess? The other side, where the door locks. where my cat is. im fucked :( [editline]7th August 2013[/editline] This is what the actual knob itself looks like.

I really want to punch the asshole who came up with the idea of doing that :<
Tell your parents there isn't any other way, you need to kick the door down. Explain how a chunk of wood isn't worth the safety of you cat. When you kick it open, kick it close to the handle. Get close enough but not too close, raise your leg and kick it hard as you can.

If you're going to kick the door down take into account the cat being on the other end of the door
Ask her to open it. But really, you have to find a way to get either that door off its hinges (which is easy), or find away to take apart the lock from the outside. Won't be easy. Just get a saw and saw off the door knob and buy a new one. :)
ok best bet is probably prying the handle off
If you're going to kick the door down take into account the cat being on the other end of the door
that actually made me laugh. now that adds worry to the method of kicking the door down.
just do the credit card trick you fool
just do the credit card trick you fool
I can't do that with the way the door is made. I would have to do that with a really weirdly bent object -- and even then, I think the crevasse is too small to fit anything inside.
