I'm a bit worried that they're planning to make this F2P, but I'm tentatively excited because the first one was so great.
The Power Creep Super Bowl
That footage there looks and feels a LOT more like the Dungeon Defenders I know and love.
I don't care for MOBA games at all, tower defense is all I'm interested in from this series. Looks like they're doing a good job on that aspect thus far.
I hope it is designed in a way to where the focus is around different heroes you can pick that are individuals and that they have removed different weapons. I just hope they don't do what they had with the previous installment in having it near being a korean mmo in terms of what different weapons are like.

I don't think we played the same game. All heroes were individuals with their own playstyles, towers (excluding Barb and Jester) and skillsets. You actually need to combine towers from multiple classes if you wanted to win on Nightmare. Are you talking about the "New Heroes" dlc which was just a genderswap of the original 4? They still had their uses but really weren't individualistic at all, but that hardly reflects all heroes in the game.
I liked the weapon styles personally, made sense and it was nice playing, say, a Huntress and being able to choose from guns that either fired bullets, a futuristic AOE space blaster, or disc-throwers that pierced multiple enemies as well as having more projectiles per shot among many other types. Hell, you can even get a sword for squire that casts a bolt spell for ranged attacking.
My only problem with the first was the god-awful broken RNG and as a result, the grindfest that was endgame. They better have that bullshit fixed in this one.
I hope it's not a huge grindfest like the first one again.
