• PC Building Community Choice Awards?

I had an idea of doing votes on Facepunch's favorite computer components. It would consist of nominations and a final vote on the top 3 (Or 5). I'm mainly worried about it being a fanboy war, but who knows, it might turn out good. If someone could make a seal (Facepunch Approved or Facepunch PC Builders Choice) it would be nice.
Do you really need to ask? Hell yes.
Why the hell not.
Yes!!!!
Would be a good idea, As long as measures are put in place stop the fanboy shit (Pathetic)
Yesh.
YES YES please do this.
Yes, do it.
why the hell not?
Yes, we need this. Also, maybe a list of pre-selected components for different stores / budgets?
or maybe catagories; Budget Mainstream Enthusiast
um no sorry this is a really bad idea
first no wow I've given you a box so you can have a place to store your s
um no sorry this is a really bad idea
get out If this happens do one component at a time.
How about use a google spreadsheet? they are very useful for this kinda stuff imo
um no sorry this is a really bad idea
Care to elaborate?
or maybe catagories; Budget Mainstream Enthusiast
I agree with this. Maybe also have categories based on brand to avoid the fanboy issue (separate voting on AMD and Intel CPUs for example).
Yeah, and a good way to have that done is essentially compare the choice/votes, and the price next to it. "Why buy the 150 dollar CPU when the 100 dollar is just as good if not better?" You can find that out by just looking the chart... no fanboy shit going on at all.. (snip'd half of it) Compwhizzi, is there going to be a review or note thingy?
Are we talking about computer hardware that, while not a great buy now, was awesome in its heyday?
Good idea.
I'll make a PC Builders seal kind of thing after work.
Yeah, I think this would be an excellant thing for Facepunch!
Ya, this would be great, only problem is things change so fast in the hardware world.
Better way would involve having a few impartial members giving each piece of hardware a meta score every few weeks.

I'm liking this idea.
