• How do I do this? (NIC troubleshot)

I'm trying to fix my dad's old PC. The old network card was so old I couldn't find any drivers for it so we had to order a new one. It arrived and I installed it. Here comes the tricky thing: When I try to connect to the Internet it doesn't work. I tried to switch PCI slots between it and the sound card, but it didn't help. Then I decided to check the network settings in the Control Panel and saw that the computer was still using the old network card. How do I make the computer use the new one instead?
What OS are you on? Windows can handle connections from multiple adapters so it should auto-negotiate if the drivers are installed correctly.
When you install the drivers, Assuming you installed them and it works correctly. It will show up along side your 'Broken' NIC and you should be able to disable the broken one and Windows will do the rest for you.
