Mic won't record - Windows Vista with Realtek HD Audio driver

Hi there.
I'm in a very annoying situation right now. I have a mic that works (I know that for sure), my computer recognizes it and says it's working and connected, but it's not recording my voice. :suicide:
(Sorry. I'm a Dane, which means the language in the screenshots is Danish. I've translated the important parts.)

As you can see for yourself:
Screen 1: Tells us that the mic is activated and working (according to my computer).
Screen 2: Tells us that the mic is plugged in the rear panel, as it's supposed to be.
Screen 3: Tells us that the mic is not muted, and that there's no mic boost.
Screen 4: It's a screenshot of the Realtek HD Audio Manager, and it tells us no more than we already know. The mic is not muted, and the rear panel is working.
I've been searching for a solution like a crazy maniac with ADHD. However, none of the solutions provided, solve my problem. Most of them suggested that you should max out your mic boost. I tried that, but it only produced more background noise while still not recording my voice.
I've tried disabling it and disconnecting it, while restarting my computer like a thousand times. I also tried to disable my sound card, and by that forcing Vista to recognize it again from scratch. None of it worked, obviously.
The strange thing is, that this problem occured from out of nowhere. It worked in the afternoon and the next morning, it didn't. As I stated before, I know the mic is working. I tested it on another computer, just to be sure.
Can someone help me with this?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
You're best using the microphone without the realtek software. Uninstall it, if it removes the sound drivers you should be able to get them from windows update
