VERY UNIQUE problem with launching Source Filmmaker after latest patch

After several attempts of re-installing it and Steam itself, I still cannot launch Source Filmmaker without it crashing immediately without an error message. I have no idea what's up with it and it's very frustrating because not only have I lost a lot of scrapped works, but had also lost a lot of time that I would have used in gathering the rest of my material for my college portfolios.
Many weird things had been acting up between SFM and Steam since the latest patch released, in this order:
- Worked perfectly fine 3 weeks ago before this patch came up, I do not remember if it did or not, but I vaguely remember that SFM did not auto-update for the patch
- Crashed immediately on startup, I can open the SFM SDK and launch any of the other applications attached (like Hammer) but when I click to launch SFM from it, nothing happens.
-Thought that the problem must have been a corruption in custom files from both off Workshop and from it, deleted all custom files. Attempted re-launch, still crashed immediately without error message
-Uninstalled SFM. For some reason it was removed completely from my Software library, not even listed on it anymore. However, on the Store page it said I already had it in my library, but it was still gone completely. "Use now" instead of "Free download" was the prompt on the page, but when I clicked it, it prompted to install anyway. Spent half an hour waiting for that to install, still failed to re-launch
-Re-installed once again, met same problem, plus it was gone again from my library but was "still there" according to the Store page. Verified the cache, "4 items missing and will be reacquired" IIRC. Restarted Steam.
-Attempted to launch again. Disk write error. Followed Steam's procedure. Still no luck.
-Re-installed Steam, attempted re-installing, the software started re-downloading a 0/0 byte file, then returned to installing the full software of about 7.2 gb. Kept pausing the download by itself, downloading approx. 26mb at a time, even. I finally gave up, uninstalled it again, and left it alone.
-Yet it's still in my steam library according to the Store page despite it being completely gone from my software library, nothing, nadda
I'm not too tech savvy, but I would appreciate some help. I also have screenshots of every piece of this issue too if requested but I think I addressed enough. Thanks in advance for anyone reading this.
edit: Yes, all of my other steam games work and SFM is the only thing experiencing this problem.
