I need some speakers for my upcoming pc build, just need something to blare my music with. I want to have 2 speakers on eah side and then a big speaker in the middle.
I'm guessing you're referring to a subwoofer when you say big speaker in the middle?
I hear good things about this item: http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-PROMEDIA21-Pro-Media-2-1/dp/B0030ZLZ5G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339148478&sr=8-1
Yeah, Also by 2 speakers on the each side I meant like a 5.1 sound setup.

I'm fairly sure the output of the subwoofer isn't positional. By that I mean it doesn't give out to a specific channel (front/right/center/etc). It's basically a combination of all channels.
The sub-woofer should be placeable anywhere. I for example have mine on the floor to the lower right of my PC.
Whilst it's probably unnecessary I'd recommend putting your sub-woofer on a different surface to your computer tower any amount of vibrations can be harmful to the hard disk.
My tower is going on a sidetable that is separate from my desk. Also my desk cant fit a subwoofer anyway so i planned on having it on the floor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121053 Also would this be any good? Sound quality doesn't bother me too much.
I've had the X-530s since like 2006 or 2007 and they've been reliable and sound good enough. I'd say go for it.
Thats good to know, saves me money and I'm only going to use them to listen to music occasionally and maybe hook my xbox up to them.
they're pretty well balanced, treble isn't too harsh, subwoofer is REALLY good for the size, mids are right where they should be.
they're not great for audiophiles who want accurate soundstages and sound representation but they're fine for at home use.
I like to consider myself an audio enthusiast and Logitech is one of the only non-sound oriented brands whose speakers I'd recommend
Also Bose makes Sound Companion 2's which is just a 2.0 speaker setup but I'm wondering if I should get those or get the logitech instead. both cost $100.
Bose is seriously overpriced.
Alright then I'll just stick to logitech.
The promedia's are better than the logitech by far. More speakers =\= better speakers.
Shame I didn't see this post sooner, I just sold my bose companion 3 for 80 bucks.

Logitech is over-rated as well when compared to speakers from companies that solely focus on them. I would recommend Swan Speakers, they have a good reputation with audiophiles. These are all active monitors as well so you won't need an amp.

Logitech speakers are terribly overpriced.
If you could go over your budget a bit, the KRK Rokit 5s are excellent. I know some DJs and producers that swear by them. They have a variety of inputs and sound great, plus, no amp. However they do not have a subwoofer, but from hearing my friend's set, they don't need it.
I wouldn't recommend those for listening though. They're made for producing music, not listening to it.
I already bought the logitech speakers, They sound nice and they fill my room with music just fine. Again I'm not an audiophile. As long as my music is clear and can fill my room thats all I want.
You could've had a look at M-Audio's AV30 and AV40 line, but eh, too late now
Either the Klipsch in the first post, or the Corsair SP2500.
You dont need audiophile monitors, those are for music studios.
