• Monitor goes into standby after windows startup

My sisters computer has been acting up recently. Whenever it boots up the monitor displays everything all the way up to the windows 7 boot logo then once it finishes the monitor 'loses signal' and goes off. I've tried replacing monitors and it does this same thing, it WILL work if I start it in safe mode. I've tried re-installing the video drivers in safe mode and that didn't work. I've also tried booting in low-res mode but to no avail. I really don't want to re-install windows ore take her computer apart to troubleshoot on the hardware level. Has anyone else had a problem like this before?
Laptop? Press FN and that F-Key with the monitor thingy on it. [editline]09:55PM[/editline] Sorry, didn't read everything. Does it work if you uninstall the graphics drivers? If you use the windows integrated ones, tried the manufacturer ones yet?

I'm starting to think it's the video card.
What does the device manager say about your graphic card if you uninstall the drivers? Windows has drivers integrated for most of the common graphic cards and uses them by default. If it says the name of your current card, you shouldn't have a problem using them. You got a problem if it says something like Standard VGA Card. Also, what monitor and card are we talking about?
