Well shit, you'd think having a lesser version of the game - no elitism intended - would detract a bit, but so many people bought it. I guess not having all the Enderman, Villages or the Adventure update shit in general doesn't mean much in the end, one can still just have fun playing with their friends and building stuff like how Minecraft used to be. :v:
Bought the Xbox 360 version for its splitscreen, definitely worth the money.
I can say it's worth the money too.
So much easier to host games with friends, no worries about SP/MP separation (Well, 1.3 does this too, but still), local splitscreen, great optimization, ect. Hell, it's even costs a good few Euros less than the PC version of Minecraft.
And when I want mods I can still always just load up my PC version of it.
So really guys, quit it with the PC elitist sperglord bullshit, the Xbox version has no effect on the PC version at all.

I only own Minecraft at all because of friends. It can't keep my attention by myself, it's definitely a game to play with friends.
Of which my friends can only afford consoles.

Building, sandbox stuff, seeing what you can accomplish with the boundaries the game gives you. Yeah, the mods change and expand things greatly, but the Adventure Update and mods alike spoiled a lot of PC players away from the core elements that the game was designed on. If anything, the Xbox version may lack the updates and moddability but gives a little convenience by providing knowledge for what you need to know and allowing other friends to join in seamlessly to just start building right away; a simple game with no bullshit.

Damn, some people on Facepunch are really without respect for people that buy a game on a different platform. I don't like Minecraft or Notch or the XBOX360, but I'm pretty happy that this has been so successful for the guy, and that so many people can enjoy his product around the world no matter what system they'd like to play it on.

Some people don't like playing at 640x360 as you do in splitscreen.
Bf3 coop had a connection glitch so I had to switch down from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 for the game to not disconnect and I cried after playing at that resolution on my screen.

XBOX version has got skin packs, but they have to pay for them. 40 skins for 160MSP, that's like three or two pounds or something like that.

Bit of a contradiction don't you think? And obviously because you're playing a block based game on a console you're much cooler, bet you get all the girls.
Even though I bought Minecraft on PC a while ago I still bought the Xbox version simply because my friends play it and its a fun party game to play on splitscreen. Yeah it has its limitations and drawbacks but its still fun none the less.
