Before the hate for HiRez comes out full force, I'm just gunna throw it out there. With Overwatch on the horizon, this was a legitimate bad move on HiRez's part. Let's face it, everyone is gunna flock to Overwatch instead of this.
hi-rez is like those companies that make minecraft clones but they have money and recognition

The only fps expirance Blizzard has is a fail project ghost that never got released. It all depends on which poject comes out first.
Are they going to completely drop Smite when this comes out like they did with Tribes?
Are they going to completely drop Smite when this comes out like they did with Tribes?
Read up on shit before you misplace your anger, they lost 30 mil in two years with tribes ascend, show me a company that would have kept that going.
Are they going to completely drop Smite when this comes out like they did with Tribes?
Would be a dumb move since Smite is making them money and has a healthy playerbase. They also have a partnership with Tencent so they probably can't if they wanted to.
looks boring to me.
Read up on shit before you misplace your anger, they lost 30 mil in two years with tribes ascend, show me a company that would have kept that going.
First of all I don't believe that unless you can give me some solid evidence. You don't slowly lose 30 million and keep that going, and more to the point that game couldn't have lost them 30 million that's just nonsense. Second of all, the problem wasn't entirely them dropping it. They made SURE that people would stop playing that game with all kinds of idiotic additions and stupid shit along with promises that they never intended to keep up. Same shit happened with Global Agenda. All I'm saying is that from their track record, Hi-Rez is a company that you should never take for their word. Fuck 'em.
tribes ascend was THE online shooter. Like, everyone was playing it. It was good. There was no fucking way they were losing money. If they had cared in the slightest it could have been one of, if not the, most popular fps' right now. But nope, gotta cash on in mobas by copying them. I don't get copying. No one will play a copy, they want the original.

Plus they've supported the fuck out of the game and even got the biggest Asian corporation in gaming to back it. Tribes never got that big and never would have because of the super huge skill ceiling that most players never really wanted to bother hitting and that's coming from someone who played a fuckton of Tribes: Ascend.
You say copying, but it was the first action based behind the back MOBA.
MNC and SMNC.
MNC and SMNC.
I guess I should say first successful one then. My bad.
MNC was pretty well received- not hugely so, but well enough. SMNC though... Damn.
MNC was pretty well received- not hugely so, but well enough. SMNC though... Damn.
SMNC wasn't a bad game, but Uber dropped the ball on it even harder than Hirez did with GA and Tribes. Didn't help that they embraced the community's cancerous "get good" bullshit that turned new players away.
Are they going to completely drop Smite when this comes out like they did with Tribes?
Smite recently hit 10 million players and is generating a lot of income for Hi Rez to expand their team and branch out to other projects
MNC was pretty well received- not hugely so, but well enough. SMNC though... Damn.
You can't even imagine how heartbroken I was about MNC and SMNC. I'm praying that Gigantic will be a spiritual successor to it.

People always saw Overwatch look like an eclectic mash up of styles I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be, its still fairly consistent. But this looks... Off.
Read up on shit before you misplace your anger, they lost 30 mil in two years with tribes ascend, show me a company that would have kept that going.
I don't fault them for ceasing development if they were losing money hand over fist over it, but how they went about it was completely fucked up. They completely abandoned the game after saying that they would release mapping tools They also shut down the T:A forums, because fuck the users.
