The crash could be coming from your sound drivers, and the game could get stuck waiting for the sound driver.
Have you tried updating them? What sound card do you have?
The sound card is Asus Xonar D1, and the drivers are newest
It's definitely either a driver problem or a hardware problem. Don't just update your sound card drivers, check for updates to your other core peripherals like the GPU, chipset and BIOS.
