I enjoy the fact that they updated it finally. I just don't understand why iOS first... Good thing I have an iPhone I guess.
Took them long enough... Sadly it's for iOS first.
still can't tap links in chat.
Surprised they're paying attention to it, still. I'd wish for a Windows Phone app, but that's a snowball's chance in hell.
The Android steam app is so terrible
The Android steam app is so terrible
Works fine for me
Took them long enough... Sadly it's for iOS first.
Isn't it easier to do iOS updates over android because of all the different models it has or something? Also the keyboard is the old style one before iOS 7.
The Android steam app is so terrible
At least we can tap links in chat.
Android 4.0 came out 19 October 2011 (3 months before the Steam app even released) iOS 7 came out September 18, 2013 And yet iOS gets a redesign and only it? Yeah that pisses me off to no end.
I enjoy the fact that they updated it finally. I just don't understand why iOS first... Good thing I have an iPhone I guess.
Because iOS is more unified? Not saying it's better but it's much easier to develop apps for since you don't have to worry about compatibility.
Still no group chat.
I wish steam mobile had any way to manage mobile games, even if they don't necessarily need steam it would be cool to use it as a launcher.
The android version of the app most of the time doesn't send me what people typed to me.
Because iOS is more unified? IOS Only. Like I totally didn't expect that at all.
Android is 80% in Europe, while iOs is like 18% :( And they still focus on iOS first :(
The only compatibility thing you have to keep in mind when developing for Android is screen sizes, other than that, you can forget what device you're on.
And even then you can still somewhat slack off, phone UIs scale up on tablets, they're just unoptimized and look bad
And even then you can still somewhat slack off, phone UIs scale up on tablets, they're just unoptimized and look bad
You mean the current steam android app.
not really its not like steam uses any ics+ apis, so you can build for 2.3 and cover something like 97% of devices
That's the problem though, Some Android Devs haven't switched their apps to ics+ apis and rely too much on Android 2.2/2.3, it's time for them to stop doing that because its weighing down what the OS can do
I wish Steam would follow the iOS7 GUI guidelines more closely, and the Holo guidelines for Android. It should look something like this, rather then this.
Still not added hyper-linking That or it hasn't worked for me since it came out.
Why not ask Valve to follow windows desktop guidelines first.
If steam followed metro guidelines, like something you'd see from Office 2013 that'd be awesome but that'll never happen, I just wish they rebuilt the client and not heavily rely upon Webkit and HTML5 to do their dirty work

The first link looks like a terrible waste of screen space.

It at least ran smoothly.
I'm glad it doesn't. The first link looks like a terrible waste of screen space.
To me it looks fair, screen space would really matter with tablet optimization
did they finally add group chat? it's one of the features I want the most
