Can I run 2 monitors off 1 5870, and then buy some really cheap graphics card for the 3rd monitor. I don't want to run eyefinity, I just want the 3 screens for work. If there is another way other than buying another graphics card please say :D
You can still use eyefinity for the 3rd monitor, just grab a dp -> vga adapter they are like 7£. Im going to be doing a eyefinity setup around tuesday and Ill post whether the adapter I used worked.

Nope in the resolution is analog and below 1920 by 1080 you are fine with none active adapters.

It will still work with 3 22" monitors running at 1680x1050. What would happen if I had 1 22" running at 1920x1080 and the others running at 1680 x1050

You'd connect it to the one running 1920x1080.
