My friend gave me his old iPod. It's the last original ipod with a black and white screen. The problem is it's not turning on but for a few seconds, and when i plug it in it will show an apple logo, and eventually a picture of a battery with a caution sign next to it. It's also making a noise like a computer starting up, but after a second or two it clicks and cuts off.
The battery thing means (iirc) that the battery inside it is kaput.
And the clicking sounds are the hard drive starting. These iPods used a small capacity HDD to store music.
so replacing the battery should fix it?
