http://img806.imageshack.us/img806/9121/graphicsf.png Is it dead? It shows randomly in games. Sometimes tho. I cleaned the case and the GPU of dirt etc. Also this : http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3208/cadred.png
im pretty sure those are artifacts, i usually get them when i overclock my GPU alittle overboard. maybe try underclocking?
I have no idea how to do that. Some folks say its due to overheating
what is your GPU?
Bake it . Always work
Bake it . Always work
Not always really, only if problem is with connections, it just resolders
NO Just buy a new card. You can get one a ton better than the 8500 for like 60 bucks.
I know. I'm selling my pc atm just wanted to make sure i can't do anything for it so i can sell it . ( even for like 20$ )
Would doing it in the microwave work?
Microwaving it would just turn your graphics card into bright sparkling fireball, which also most likely would destroy your microwave oven or make it so dirty that you don't want to cook food in it anymore. And those are definetly artifacts and your card is dead.
if that only happens sometimes, but if happens often then your card is pretty much finished its life. a good idea is to get a better video card, they are getting pretty cheap lately. Good luck getting a new card if you are, OP

Well, if you pay just a little more, you can get a 5770. It's a pretty decent card for it's price, will let you run all nowadays games on max settings.

[editline]3rd April 2011[/editline] also, get a motherboard that is capable of unlocking and turn your tri-core to a quad core. good example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157176&cm_re=am3_motherboard_asrock-_-13-157-176-_-Product

When i build a similiar pc myself the final price is way above 400$. If only i had a bigger bugdet i would go for a phenom 555 ( forgot if it was x3 ? so i can unlock it) and a 5770. Btw is 160gb + 32Gb SSD better alternative ? i know 160gb is little but... Oh and if anyone could make me a budget pc for like 450$ max ( or 350euros max as im not in US ) ? I would use it for the regular stuff plus a bit of gaming,(not hoping for much with 350euros)

everything is good on my comp except my processor and my harddrive. hardrive is only 300 gigs and processor is only 1.86ghz dual core. im planning to upgrade.
I really need to upgrade my Graphics card. HP, why would you couple a Nvida 9100 with a Phenom Quad Core and 6GB RAM?
I really need to upgrade my Graphics card. HP, why would you couple a Nvida 9100 with a Phenom Quad Core and 6GB RAM?
I'm in the same boat. HP Pavilion Elite 210f, Quad core Phenom, 8 GB of RAM (I do work in Photoshop while playing games, that much comes in handy), 1 TB hard drive.... And a goddamn Radeon HD 5450.
The above two posts are the perfect examples of why you shouldn't buy a prebuilt PC.
The casual person goes into some store that sells computers, he sees a computer which has high numbers and some good sounding descriptions about the power of the computer like "8GB of super fast memory", "2TB of storage space", "3.2Ghz super fast processor", "Über fast graphics card, it will make playing latest games possible". What does the casual person think "Wooow this must be like so high end computer that i will make my friends jealous" Then he goes home and realizes that what he just bought is a pile of overpriced crap. True Story.
Looks like artifacts due to GPU-memory errors. Dump it or underclock the gpu-RAM.
