Baby steps
Little baby steps makes the console seem more appealing, though I don't think I have the money for any of them.
Now if only you had a bundle option without it, I might consider an Xbox One. I don't want to pay for something I don't want.
How about you let me buy one without a kinect?
I actually wouldn't buy one but if I was a casual that still played with the xbros, I'd like that option.
I don't want to seem to harsh, but you must be incredibly naive to buy this console.
These haven't been just U-turns (of which there have been many), buy outright lies.
So now it works without an attachment most people don't want, remove it and they would have sold more because it was cheaper.
I can just see them returning to the original plan when they've sold enough.
I never see the need to remove the Kinect 2.0. With the Kinect being optional, now no game developers will have the desire to use it.
The report linked for evidence that xbox would have mandatory kinect was from a "anonymous inside source" so it was probably never true.

If that is the case, Microsoft should've announced that ages ago, since that was one of the biggest complaints. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't an inside source that claimed that
