Not super sure how good they are in enthusiast circles but I got a knife from there a few years back and I'm still happy with it. Wasn't a throwing knife mind you. edit: Just so you know most knives a throwable, you just need to get used to the balance and weight, thrown knives are just more balanced. Also as I'm sure you're aware a throwing knife is unlikely to really damage/incapacitate anything larger than a small animal, even then its not mega accurate. There are also different techniques underarm you can throw a kitchen knife several meters and have it stick into wood/plaster, over arm is harder and its kind of "knife by knife" basis.
Yeah, I'm not look to throw it at anything alive. Just as something I can have a bit of fun with throwing around.
You wont really find knives specifically designed for throwing in the 30 dollar range. You can probably find a decent fixed blade knife in that price range, and really thats all you need. Preferrably a solid piece of metal, no plastic handle or otherwise. The balance should be centered but slightly favor the handle by a half inch to an inch. When throwing a knife like this, I prefer to throw across the body without spinning the knife. When throwing overhand you have to judge the exact amount of rotations it will make before it hits the target, and you may have to adjust how you hold the knife, and count out how many paces you are from the target. On the other hand, when you throw across the body, its more about when you release and I personally think that its easier to get a feel for. Theres a lot of guides on youtube on how to throw knives, but it basically comes down to this: start next to your target and throw the knife at it, then move back a step, and repeat. Knife doesnt stick? start over.
