I don't feel like this game needed a sequel. Though maybe it's more due to the fact that it doesn't seem to be doing anything new.

New modes, new map-related mechanics, more inventive ways of dispatching zeds, vastly different zed behaviours. There's a million things they could have done to improve the formula without feature creeping but they must have rushed this or not given a fuck.
I'd say skip it until they actually release the entirety of the game. Tripwire has been valve-grade sluggish in terms of releasing consistent updates, and has instead focused on the creation of a crafting/unboxing system rather than balancing key classes (namely, Demolitions)

Enemy AI feels way dumber and more artificial, ammo/item pickups are worse, Hans is a garbage boss that shouldn't be in the game, and they barely have touched any of the currently lacking existing classes and seem to be going towards implementing a lazy versus mode
from what I understand, its an early access title that acts like a full release
I honestly find it hard to go back to the original game after playing this. KF1 just feels so damn clunky by comparison. Really wish they'd finish the damn thing though.
runs like shit though
didn't mean it in any good ways
runs like shit though
I honestly have had 0 performance issues if we don't count FleX(PhysX) flopping now and then if enabled.
"early access done right" god I will never forgive them for that big fat lie. fucking microtransactions lol i regret buying the digital deluxe edition...

Never expected a game like Killing Floor to have something like that though, I never liked the first game too much and I was kinda looking foward to the second game, I didn't find it very fun after playing it during the free week though. I kinda wanted to give it another shot, but I'm not sure if I should bother.
from what I understand, its an early access title that acts like a full release
Yup, with shitty updates and everything

Obviously early access, but if they are going to charge money for it I'll tell people not to buy it and instead suggest KF1, a game that regularly goes on sale for $2.50
"early access done right" god I will never forgive them for that big fat lie. fucking microtransactions lol i regret buying the digital deluxe edition...
I have 29 minutes in the game, but I waited too long for a refund. It sucks dick.

The brains behind KF1 made that game so it'd be good to at least support him and his team. Helps that the games good too.
With each passing month it seems less and less likely I'll ever buy KF2 even if it does get finished. And that fucking depresses me cause I'm a hardcore fan of KF1 and so desperately wanted KF2 to be fantastic. I'm gonna get shit on by some people for what I'm about to say but i don't give a flying toss cause it keeps bloody happening. Stop buying early access / per-ordering games that are not fucking finished, no matter how much of a great company you think they are and how much you feel you can trust them.

Early access is a legit thing that's been tainted by shit like killing floor 2 and devs aren't going to learn anything if they just keep using it as a dumping ground.

Sure they fucked up with red orchestra 2 but they fixed it with rising storm and made a damn good game out of it, they seemingly learned from their mistakes. They were passionate about their games, they constantly communicated with the community, hell i have personally spoken to Yoshiro about KF1 on numerous occasions and he was very forthcoming, they kept updating the game with free content, they did micro transactions properly at the right time for the game. Tripwire literally fell right into the category of trustworthy legit developers and i would have stood by that stand 2 years ago no matter what arguments would have been made against them. And yet i still did not trust them with my money and well, here we are with me sadly being proved right. You cannot trust anyone, sure i can rattle of a few games that have worked or are seemingly progressing properly, like star citizen, factorio, space engineers but face it, those gems are the exception that proves the rule that giving your money to developers before a game is finished is a god awful idea.

Don't Starve came out of early access. Two expansions for it have come out of early access, and the multiplayer version of the game is coming out of early access very soon. They are one of the prime examples of how to do early access right and because of it, they'll always be pretty much one of my fav video game companies.
I don't feel like this game needed a sequel. Though maybe it's more due to the fact that it doesn't seem to be doing anything new.
I feel like a bit of modernization is good - all the enemies in the original KF have very basic walk cycles so being a sniper is piss-easy, for instance. Plus the original Zeds look pretty bad, even when compared to the holiday zeds. Although I was really hyped by the first ads and though of Tripware as stand-up developers, I decided to stick with my "don't preorder/early access" policy with this one. Even a free weekend didn't change my mind (especially since my main class, Sharpshooter, wasn't in). And now seeing the hot mess of delays and microtransactions... yeesh. Hopefully the final release will actually be a final release.
