Which is pretty shitty. Frontier gave me a steam copy of E:D once they released it there.

For whatever reason the Steam client and the regular client of ESO are separate things for some reason. At one point you could merge your regular account into your Steam account, but if your account is through Steam it always remains tied to Steam. Its weird.

In all honesty, Activision is probably testing the waters on either going all-in on Battle.Net and abandoning Steam, or to keep supporting Steam with non-Blizzard titles.

The decision would solely be based on not paying gabe tax as steam is really nice to work with
