I played a fair bit of H1Z1's battleroyale, before it was split. And watching someone play PUBG on stream last night, it looks so much more fun. Not that it's entirely my sort of game, but I much more see the attraction in this one this time around.
This is actually a really fucking fun game. It's so simple and the learning curve is about the height of a porch
I'm loving it, its worth the pricetag which is pretty damn low and for what you get, pretty accurate.
So many games like this. What does this one do to stand out from the rest of the crowd?

PLAYERUNKNOWN is the guy who made the original Battle Royale mod in ARMA that started this whole battle royale game craze IIRC.

and unlike DAY-Z standalone is stable and hasn't prolonged the dev time.

I thought it was a mod for ARMA2 not a mod for DayZ, or am I remembering it incorrectly?
It's an arma 3 mod, i think the arma battleroyale is the best but it died off when it started getting added to other games, something about the size of the map and the arma PvP made it really tense especially when you made it to the last few players

Why did you bring up DayZ? PUBG has absolutely nothing to do with it :v:

Other than starting off as a ARMA mod, nothing else really.
Plus this isn't running on the ARMA engine anyway, its Unreal 4.
This is the real, go-to, version of Battle Royale. This is the original creator behind the mod, and now he's made his own stand-alone that doesn't run on the Arma engine (Thankfully, as much of an improvement Arma 3 is over 2, it's not as simple as WASD and Crouch) And aside from running a bit like ass on even decent hardware on max settings, it seems to be pretty solid and less floaty than H1Z1. Better sound design, more variation, a bit easier on the eyes
I haven't tried it yet cause i only have my laptop until next week but i doubt it's better than the arma version, to win in the arma mod it wasn't just about twitch reactions. I see the appeal of the standalone or h1z1 version though you can have a lot of value added things like crates/skins customisation that wasn't possible in a arma mod
I'd have pre-ordered the deluxe edition if I knew that I'd be enjoying the game this much.
Fuck yes! I used to help him test his original mod on arma 2. He's such a nice guy and deserves this after putting all the work in for so long.

Basically it does battle royal right.
You basically jump right into the game, loot, as time goes on you have designated zones to be in, the zone gets smaller, and smaller which basically forces players to actually engage. If you don't go into areas you slowly die.

hows it compared to the culling?
hows it compared to the culling?
Much faster paced and far less forgiving, you die a lot faster in this compared to the Culling, its also vastly less arcade-like like Culling and H1Z1 are.
I would honestly compare it more to the A3 mod but much faster paced, you normally don't get fully geared up before the first zone starts like you can in the A3 mod and H1Z1.
