Lying alone in a dark house knowing there is a intruder downstairs, Micheal felt fear and anger rise in him like something. It's pretty stupid but I am fascinated by metaphors and poetry - always have been. A little stuck on this one, it's for a short story I am writing.
prey getting hunted or like a dog who has a intruder on his territory.(try to make it sound more poetic)
Like some sort of a reverse waterfall. Also, the first part of the sentence is in the present, and the second part is the past. What.
there is none. that would be a simile
Accidentally wrote metaphor it's a simile - my bad. Oh and cheers Suttles, I owe you one.
like frodo hiding from a ring wraith
No problem! Which one did you choose?
I chose like a wild dog who spots an intruder on his territory. __ Do you do poetry?
like the liquid part of ketchup always rises up to the top so when you go to squirt it out the first thing that comes out of the bottle is red water and it gets pretty annoying.

like a large, throbbing erect penis
