• Applied for Courtest Clerk position at a grocery store. What to Expect?

I just applied for a primary position as a Courtesy Clerk and a secondary position as a Service Deli/Bakery Clerk at my local Ralphs grocery store and have a question for any of you who have held either of those two positions. If I get the job as a courtesy clerk, what can I expect from this position as far as my tasks/assignments and treatment? What about the secondary position I applied for? I realize this may vary from person to person but I basically want to know what it was like for you working these positions so I generally know what to expect. It would be greatly appreciated as I'm almost positive that I will get the job. :smug:
I used to be one. 1. Help customers with their bags 2. Return returned groceries. 3. Help customers find stuff. 4. Clean up minor spills 5. Price check 6. Occasionally run a till
I suppose it depends per chain but I'd say expect doing the regular stuff and odd jobs like checking mats, bringing in carts, closing jobs like garbage and till cleaning, facing store shelves if you have to, returns... I think that's mostly it treatment would probably be based on seniority and how much they personally like you i guess
Cleaning, bagging, and pushing carts. Maybe help stock,at least thats what i sometimes did, and generaly be nice to people.
