Right so i was wondering. Excluding Money:Perfomance ratio, which is better DDR2 or DDR3 i know everyone is getting 3 but is it actually faster?
Why would you bother getting DDR2 when almost all of the modern CPUs these days support DDR3? The only ones that support DDR2 as far as I know are the lower end Phenom IIs and other related consumer-level CPUs. Obviously DDR3 is better considering it's triple channel and not dual channel. Other factors play into what's better like speed, timings, etc, but for all general purposes, DDR3 is the way to go, not to mention DDR3 is cheaper than DDR2 as well.

My mistake. I wasn't sure about that. Still doesn't change the fact on the Intel side of things, DDR2 is gone.
