So I was biking to school today and all of a sudden my left earbud cut out. I originally thought that the earphones were just broken, but I tried another pair I had which were brand new had the same problem. I plugged them into my chromebook and the audio was working fine. I tried cleaning out the jack but that didn't work either. I can, however, make them work with both earbuds if I push the 3.5mm jack towards the front of the phone. Any suggestions?

Well I don't have the money to buy the special screwdrivers. Is this the only to fix it?

It's a Phillips #000, which should come along with any half-decent jewellers screwdriver set, and the plastic opening kit/spudger can also be substituted with any number of things in a pinch.
Honestly though, the 54 Bit Driver Kit is worth every penny to have available in the house, and I find myself using it any time I need any kind of screwdriver.

Find them on eBay. The Y0 bit is $4 by itself (along with a $1 dollar tree screwdriver set or one of these, which I've used very regularly for a year )
