• Sound driver doesn't work?

Okay so over the summer my hard drive had failed and I bought a new one and had everything put back to normal, except for the sound driver, the man at the repair shop said he ran out of time, it would cost more money and that it was easy, or something. I went home located the driver I needed, Realtek HD Audio, installed, restarted and...nothing. I tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it a few times, still with no luck. I, luckily, had headphones that worked because they go through USB and have their own drivers, so those have lasted me, it's always bugged me that this hasn't worked, can anyone help me? I hope it's an easy fix. Thank you for anyone willing to help.
Posting the actual Reatek Model would be another thing as well, have you tried installing the sound drivers that came from the disk or are you using updated ones.

Arg, lol, let me look. Anyway I could find it online, or anything?
