[QUOTE=Jackald;39419702]Obligatory comparison to when it was Overstrike and actually looked fun.

I'm betting it played just as generic, only difference being artstyle. And you're forgetting that was a pre-rendered, scripted, and heavily animated trailer. Can't say I cared for it either way.

This is Insomniac we're talking about. Even their generic games have inventive gameplay.
The thing is, Overstrike didn't take itself seriously. It looked fun, vibrant and charming.
Fuse is the embodiment of 'We want the Call of Duty audience'. Dominantly brown and gray color palette, desaturation and bloom out the ass, and a group of generic operators BUT WITH SOOPER KOOL FUTURISTIC TECKNOLOWGY!!!!11 and a plot that sounds like it's going to try too hard. It went from "interesting and looks fun to play" to "focus-tested for investors and shareholders pleasure".
They even said themselves they pandered to the Cowadoody trash in an interview somewhere, their focus group was made up entirely of modern FPS fans, most of them not even old enough to be playing this when it comes out.
The weapon mechanics might redeem it, but it seriously disgusts me to see an interesting game ruined like this.
