i just got a second 4870 to crossfire with, and then i did a benchmark test with everything maxed out at 1920 x 1080 the first benchmark test i was pleased with, max fps of 92 and min of 63 i then left i come back an hour later and start up dirt 2 again, and notice my fps is low i do another benchmark test, max fps is 43, lowest was 17, avg was 25. wtf? any help?
Post temps after playing the game for a few minutes using HWMonitor
here wat, how is one 10 degrees hotter also, i noticed while in cockpit view, my fps is 40-50, in any other view mode (like outside the car) my fps drops to 25 wtf?
Huh. I wouldn't, uh.. Consider myself an 'expert', but I don't think your cards should have that temperature.
Maybe turning down the reflections of the vehicles will solve this problem...
but my fps was higer when i had a single gpu installed in my computer it never went below 40 :(
I am not positive but I do believe you really see the effects of a dual GPU solution till you enable AA/AF. If this is still troubling you then just disable crossfire in the CCC and go back to running one GPU for the game.
I don't see why an extra GPU would lower the FPS...
thats what I'm trying to figure out aswell I don't know if it's dirt 2, or my gpus :(

SLI/Crossfire can be forced on games that don't support it but you'll probably get a lower framerate.
