Uninstalled 7zip, but it still wants to extract my .exe files!

I am trying to update my Realtek HD sound drivers because Vista SP2 made my sound go mute, but I have a problem, 7Zip is trying to extract the .exe, but it fails at extracting it. How can I get rid of it? I have uninstalled it, so what the hell...?!
why did you tell it to extract exe's

exe's dont install, they execute. AKA EXEcutable files
but anyways, there's a registry fix for that somewhere on the internet.

System restore kind of fixed it, but now there's nothing associated with opening the .exe, but I'm follwing another guide to fix that, so be right back again.
system restore back to where before you installed 7zip.
it wont delete files, just the programs/system files edited.

Yeah, I did that. That's why my .EXE is now not associated with any programs, it asks for a program to open..

try redownloading the exe.

Fuck, this is frustrating... Turns out I made the system restore point after I installed 7zip.
I guess I'll have to reformat or something... But I have a lot to lose right now... :argh:
I probably will use my old Win 7 key this time, if I do.
Anyways, unfortunately I have to leave... I'm going camping. sucks that this problem had surfaced right before my trip.
Try CCleaner's regestry cleaner...
