My favorite games are the kingdom hearts series as a point of reference, and I'm looking for something to tide me over until kingdom hearts 3.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Like and subscribe if you cried when Ghost died.
The whole Metal Gear Solid series. You shall not be disappointed.
The Witcher 2
Bioshock and all of the Witcher games.
carmegeddon
the last of us
Divine Divinity is excellent for Immershun (TM) if you can look past some of the design decisions.
System Shock 2. Metro 2033 and Last Light
Max Payne 3
Bastion
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Dark Messiah: Might and Magic
The Chronicles of Riddick
Borderlands 2
Alan Wake
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: SoC/CoP
RAGE
The actual story and gimmicks aren't necessarily the best, but I really got sucked into .hack/G.U. (semi-obscure PS2 series, probably a little hard to get at this point except for eBay). The .hack games always are "in-universe", and you "log in" to the game, a fake MMO, through a fake desktop interface. There are times when it's actually advantageous to "log out" of the actual game itself and return to the fake desktop, because you'll receive email and other info from storyline characters (other "players") and have in-universe news updates as if the game you were playing was a real MMO.
The first time I sat down and really played it, I played for almost 8 hours straight, and when I exited the game and was turning off my PS2, I caught myself... hoping I'd see those people online tomorrow. And then I remembered that everything's offline and faked, and the suspension of disbelief was so total it followed me out of the game.
If you somehow haven't played it, Planescape: Torment is on GOG and is p legendary. The storyline isn't necessarily the strongest point, mind.
I really got into the atmosphere of Dishonored... the plot's alright, but I love the whole feel to it
Alan Wake
The Darkness II
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Max Payne series
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Dead Space series
(Either extremely agreeable or vehemently disagreeable)
- Spec Ops: The Line
- Kane and Lynch: Dead Men
The Darkness II
No Darkness 1? That storyline got super immersive once the thing happened and once the storyline concluded I won't lie I fucking teared up like a god damn man
Mafia 1 was pretty awesome, it is also a very fun game.
Mafia 2 too
The Walking Dead (telltale)
Bastion, Bioshock one, any telltale game.

Literally disappointed that none of you said Fallout
Fallout: New Vegas has some of the best writing that you get from AAA games.
Alpha Protocol - if you want a spy RPG
Knights of the Old Republic 2
Fallout: New Vegas
Neverwinter Nights 2
Can you tell I like Obsidian's games?
The Oddworld games all have good stories, very oppressive feeling. (And you can buy the Oddboxx on steam and get 4 games for $15)
Mafia and Mafia 2
Yes, I second to KotoR1/2.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
Custer's Revenge
bad rats
Bioshock 1
Bioshock: Infinite (plus Burial at Sea)
Dear Esther (it's not really a "game" but it was really neat)
Fallout 3
Need atleast Broken Steel with it. The vanilla ending was so infuriatingly terrible.

No. The story is still shit with it. You don't play that game for its plot anyways, except for maybe the miniquests.
Broken Steel still sucked.
