My steam servers have been messed up for about a week now and they haven't changed from being that way no matter what I've done.

I've tried reinstalling steam, restarting my computer, restarting steam and nothing seems to work.
I've already sent a steam ticket.
Most likely some kind of firewall is blocking traffic.

But my firewall has always been the same.
Why would it just now start fucking stuff up.

Could anyone else have changed the settings? Just disable it temporarily to see if it is the culprit.
Disable firewall or uncheck steam exceptions in firewall.
Just disable it and try connecting to Steam again. Its process of elimination, if the firewall isn't blocking it then it must be something else.
Didn't work.
Do any other games/applications have any problems with connecting to the internet or is it only Steam?
Just Steam.
You don't have any filters set in the server browser do you?
Norton. If you ever had it - use a proper uninstall of it.
I don't have Norton.
I have Norton and it doesn't do anything like this. (Norton 2009)
This is getting annoying.
So am I fucked?
Yes
Well there goes all the important games on my steam list.
Wait would it matter if the computer I'm getting internet from is using norton?.
Probably.
Why are you getting internet from another computer and not a router.

Almost likely.

Other computers can function as 'routers' too.

I'm getting it from the router connected to that other computer.
Try plugging your computer directly into your modem.
Someone on a different forum suggested disabling SPI on the router.
Ok so, have you tried that?
