I find it a lot of fun, especially when playing in a squad of friends. Hotwire mode or whatever even more so.
Nothing was wrong with the gameplay really in the first place. If anything, the alpha actually felt a little like the first Bad Company for me. My only grudges with the multiplayer was that the netcode was a pile of shit, and that's the usual now it seems. Over that, the only thing I find laughable about Battlefield Hardline is the story. Summing it up as easy as possible: Crazy 3%'s / Tea Party folk set up a compound in Death Valley(or Miami now apparently..?) and two police operatives are captured by them. Turns out that they are evil racist folk, BUT they are willing to trade off these police operatives to the Mexican drug cartels... The groups that are the prime enemy in the series which the militiamen make several remarks about through out the trailer as being somewhat their arch-enemy. Oh and people with the capability to make bombs, automatic weapons, and anti-air rockets are somehow are willing to surrender to a police officer because he waves his badge at them... In the middle of the desert. Because you know, police badges are magical. We also find out that members of the fucking ATF, are embedded with this group(corrupted?) and are somehow not calling in the National Guard to wipe them out Waco-style. I don't know about you guys, but as someone who likes to read into the history of civil insurrections in the United States, I find anything in this hard to believe.
Did that guy just spawned a third arm!?
There's ridiculous easteregg animations that have a 1 in 10,000 chance of occurring on an empty reload, that's the first one that's been recorded so far
"They've been key to our success," said Probst. "They gave us very, very clear feedback on what they really like, what they really didn't like, what they'd like to see changed. And they've been working with the team even outside of their individual visits to the studio. They've gotten on email and fired away tons of thoughts." But all that feedback about how terribly unfinished BF4 was just kind of ignored right
Not doing things by the formula seems to be a real fucking challenge for EA
at least that explains why it's so terrible
It's pretty rough right now but nothing that can't be fixed in a few months. I wouldn't say there are deep gameplay issues. It plays like the Battlefield we know and love, just with some odd idiosyncrasies. I'd say the biggest problem right now is vehicle physics. Ever since Bad Company and the switch to Frostbite it seems the one thing neither DICE nor now Visceral seems to get around. The problem with Hardline is that it relies on vehicles a lot more than any other Battlefield game. There is a game mode built around driving and capturing vehicles. Losing an objective because your car spazzed out after hitting a fire hydrant, or glitching into another car, is super frustrating and happens a lot. Otherwise I'm having fun with it. Same problems as other Battlefield games (wonky hit detection, unbalanced games, questionable performance and requisite bugs) but it also has the same addictive squad gameplay Battlefield has.

Might just be how overly-observative of US gun laws I am, but I would of personally loved if the criminals had semi-autos that could of been upgraded with bumpinator or lightning trigger upgrades.
Been enjoying the Hotwire mode in the new open beta. It's very fun.
