• Constant lag spikes when playing a game on my laptop...
    20 replies, posted
Does anyone know why the hell my comp keeps freezing? It seems to me that it constantly happens because the CPU gets too hot and when it cools down it works again. The fan openings are not covered, so air flow is okay. Is it a process, or really just the temp? And how do I fix this?
If it happens with any game then it seems to be the problem. Maybe try increasing the fan speed manually?
I can't, speedfan doesn't show any fans that I can adjust manually. Maybe I should clock my cpu to a lower value?
Anyone got an idea how to avoid it getting to 90°C ? The laptop is only 4 months old...
It's the wallpaper, let us see it, to uh, diagnose it.
It's the wallpaper, let us see it, to uh, diagnose it.
Yes, we should get to see all of your system, not just a hint of that horserider's booty.
I might recommend replacing your heatsink.
I might recommend replacing your heatsink.
Laptop, while I'm sure it's possible, I dunno if OP is technically minded enough to do it.
Yes, we should get to see all of your system, not just a hint of that horserider's booty.
That doesn't look like a bum, it actually looks like nice firm breasts to me.
Are you running vista, that may actually be the real problem. Since vista likes to constantly check for wireless networks when you are on a wireless network. Do a simple test for me. Open command prompt Enter ping 127.0.0.1(Or whatever your local ip is) -t Let it sit for a little and check for massive ping spikes. If so, I suggest getting wlan optimizer. ( http://www.martin-majowski.de/wlanoptimizer/ ). It should stop windows from doing that.
That doesn't look like a bum, it actually looks like nice firm breasts to me.
Oh yeah, wow I'm dumb.
Well, maybe the fan has problems with dust, or the heatsink has a bad connection to the CPU. Or the heatpipe might even be broken. But I would try with the heatsink connection, give it some new thermal paste.
I doubt that this causes his laptop CPU to overheat..
sorry, he said lagspikes while gaming, I just thought he was going in the wrong direction. Besides, I tried to fix lagspikes once and all I got was a rehashed answer, so I just thought I would give him my solution.
Azerus is open. Close it.
you've got too many processes running at a time. If your CPU Usage is at anywhere over 80%, you might want to close unneeded processes. That might help.

Oh and dust isn't the problem I already opened it up and it barely had any dust. The connection of the heatsink might indeed be the problem...
Turning off your torrent client might also help, as torrents tend to hog upload speed.
Run Hijack This, and put it in
[/ code] here, it could be a hidden malware.

Update to SP2, and also uninstall all of your toolbars, except for the Google one, because the google programs need it to run.
