I have times where I am playing TF2 and I randomly freeze up, and I can't alt tab or anything, my computer is totally frozen. Here are my specs. OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1 Build 2600) System Manufacturer: VIA Technologies, Inc. System Model: KT400-8235 BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz Memory: 1024MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Video Card: Nvidia GeForce3 Ti 500 It sucks but I want to see if I can stop the crashing. Would I need more RAM?
I think more specs would be appreciated.
Edited.
By the way, this does not happen in singleplayer source games, such as HL2. [editline]07:05PM[/editline] It actually does.
[url=http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php]Post temps.[/url] Load and idle.
You want me to post the temperature of my computer when I load TF2 and join a server and idle?
No. Post a temp of you just sitting at your computer doing nothing. Then load up Tf2 for 10 mins then post that temp.
Got it. Without TF2 up: TMPIN0 34°C (93°F) TMPIN1 47°C (116°F) TMPIN2 72°C (161°F) ___________________ With TF2 up: TMPIN0 34°C (94°F) TMPIN1 48°C (118°F) TMPIN2 76°C (168°F) ___________________
Are those the only readings?

What graphics card you have?
Nvidia GeForce3 Ti 500. [editline]06:26PM[/editline] Whoever rated this funny, I mean it. My computer sucks.
Is that Graphics card even capable of loading Pictures =P But seriously, does it meet the minimum requirements for the game?
I am not sure. I just checked and I don't know how to check which DirectX Version it uses, but I can run the game OK. It might be like DX7 because if I look at the water in the game its all white. :P My freezing problem might be caused by heating problems, because I ran the game last night in about 50°F room temperature, and didn't crash. But I am still not sure why I keep crashing.
Jesus fuck.. GeForce 3.. That's from like, 99'... You need a new computer. Simple as that.
Give up on your shit. Throw it out. [B]Edit:[/B] My laptop has better specs... [editline]01:49PM[/editline] Well maybe not but come on you can't play tf2 on a card from 99' there is no way that thing is dx9 hardware.
Honestly I have a gaming computer that I am allowed to use sometimes, but I just wanted to get this one running okay, but if I can't, it doesn't matter too much.
