I am getting a original iPhone that my mom has because she is getting a iPhone 3GS (She heard about the new one being easily breakable so she is getting the iPhone 3GS instead.) and I don't know what to do with it yet. Any apps, jailbreak shit, or stuff I should download?
Well let me first say that the 2g is obsolete due too Steve jobs not allowing ios 4 for it so if you aren't on the latest software that means no apps and because of the new iTunes you wont be able to jailbreak. Sorry to bring you the news:(

Well you kinda need it if you want to get music and the new iTunes cancels out spirit and blackra1n and if you want to use custom firmware so actually it is needed

Original doesn't get iOS 4, but all of it's features can be easily replaced with some jailbreaking tools.

I sort of want an iphone, I don't have a flashy phone at the moment, and they look atleast slightly usefull.
Not saying I [I]need[/I] a flashy phone however, just one that can surf the web easily.
You should take a look at some Android phones, my mum ordered my one about an hour ago, and its insanely cheap, I personally think they are better than Iphones as I have tested quite a few out.

I've never had an original, but I did have a 3G before I got my 3GS and I have to say it was a slow piece of shit. So I can only imagine what the original was like.
I've had the original - it was fine with the first OS and then started tapering off when the App Store came.

My 3G isn't cripplingly slow, at least I didn't see fit to drop a few hundred dollars on a new 3GS just to have my ipod load 1 second faster, or that game to run 5fps smoother.
The 3G is a slow piece of shit. It's a 2G with the 3G modem.
