Ok, so I heard this song in a restaurant a few weeks ago, and I've been searching in vain for it.
Basically all I remember is that it was a rock song from the 70s, and the guy sang along with his guitar. And I don't mean a voice-box like Frampton, he sang along with the pitch and tempo of his guitar. It was high pitched for the most part if I remember correctly.

Ugh I can't remember any lyrics. Are there really that many songs that fit that description? It's not the Bee Gees, but it's pretty high pitched.
