• Changing the length of the Windows XP startup and shutdown sounds?
    8 replies, posted
So I decided I'm sick of the startup and shutdown music and I changed it to some new music. The thing is that when it plays the new music, it only plays them for a few seconds and then it stops. Is there any way to adjust the length?
Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Sounds
You can't change the length.
remove them, your startup will happen faster because it's one less thing you have to wait on loading.
I think the length may be hardcoded.
You can't change the length.
Bullshit, I can have a 20 second+ saxophone track play at startup on XP. Specifically - this @ 1:55-2:15
