So, I was originally going to get a net book for Christmas but decided against it, which leaves me with £200 to spend on whatever I want. There is nothing in particular I want, so I have decided to just buy some new things for my new computer. So far looking at; CM Storm Sentinel Gamers Mouse Asus Xonar DS PCI 7.1 Soundcard Western Digital 750Gb Caviar Black Hard Drive Sennheiser RS110 Wireless Headphones This puts me at just under £200. Can anyone give any suggestions or opinions on what I have chosen? Thanks gents.
I don't really see the point in gaming mice, unless you play RTS or MMO. Soundcards are useless (if you have a decent on board one anyway), but if you want 7.1, then yeah, that's a good choice. A hard drive is a hard drive. Instead of those headphones, I recommend the SteelSeries Siberia V2. They are more expensive, but you get what you pay for. I have the originals (without a mic) and they are excellent. Very comfy and great quality, plus you can get a USB 7.1 soundcard with it here, though it's a tad expensive.
I don't really see the point in gaming mice, unless you play RTS or MMO.
actually this applies to keyboards not mice (unless it's that razer numpad+mouse shit, but why would you get that instead of a macro keyboard) mouse buttons are more for games where you need a quick reflex or better control while holding a button, for example in CoD I have one set to special grenade so I can move in more than 3 directions while adjusting aim and one set to knife because pressing your thumb down is much easier reflex than finding a specific keyboard button RTS/MMO would be better suited to keyboard macro buttons
Get an SSD.
^ Yeah it will speed up your PC in general. Maybe even fps in games.
The soundcard was really just to bump it up to £200, the motherboard I will be using is an Asus M4A79XTD My mouse at the moment is getting a bit dodgy, sometimes it keeps disconnecting. And I thought a mouse with more buttons would be pretty useful. And with the headphones, I was going wireless simply because I hate wires and my headphones I have at the moment are forever getting tangled up etc. Thanks for the input so far.
Why not treat yourself and buy a Zune HD 16/32gb from an importer (zunethings or ebay).
I've knocked off the sound card an added a cpu cooler, I probably am not going to overclock but if this will give me lower temps than stock cooling, why the hell not? Also added 2x case fans. [editline]05:00PM[/editline]
Why not treat yourself and buy a Zune HD 16/32gb from an importer (zunethings or ebay).
I already have an MP3 player.
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7:1 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/123088# (I have it its a amzing sound card for the price.) Samsung 1TB Hardrive http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173804 (2£ more than the 750gb) Logitech G5 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/126433 Those Headphones would bring it around 200£
I didn't go with the Creative one originally because it is currently only a pre order item :/

so you're trying to spend £200 for the hell of it? :aaaaa:
You should really save until you really want something.
I think a netbook is a sensible idea, unless your still in high school/not in college or uni with that 200£ you could just buy one 5850 :clint:
so you're trying to spend £200 for the hell of it? :aaaaa:
Not my money.
That's the point.
there wouldnt be a problem if it was your money
Well I have been told I can have up to £200 spent on me, so why not use that to its full potential?
New monitor?? maybe this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143280
I have no need, I already run dual screens and I am happy with them.
Driving lessons [editline]01:23AM[/editline] And if you can already drive then motorbike lessons
My parents would pay for lessons anyway, and I have a car so they can take me out for free.
