If you have read one of my previous threads i had a pretty nice rig and a fire burned everything down. Only game i really every played anyways was Gmod, what would run gmod nicely?
What currency?
=)
You don't even need that much stuff.
Get a dual core
2GB of ram
500w psu
250GB HDD
4670
[editline]10:03PM[/editline]
That will max gmod.
+1 for the 4670.
I can max Gmod with an Athlon X2 6000+ and 4GB of RAM (I could max it on 2GB, though)
USA currency. Los angeles
IMO wait a few days and see how the new i3/5s turn out
Yeh, wait, and get an i3, they will be pretty darn cheap around 90Pounds...
Get one of them.

This. And get the AMD 240. It's a very nice budget CPU.

I would at least get a 4770. Depending on the resolution used the 4670 may suffer a bit at the highest settings, particularly in busy multiplayer situations (I say this based on my brother's 4830 @ 1920 x 1080).

Nah, he'll max it fine so long as he doesn't care for low AA/AF. I say he could max it with 4X AA at least at 1280 x 1024 and still get 30-40FPS.
Gmod is more CPU intensive anyways.

I ran gmod fine at 1920 x 1080 maxed aa/af all the way up with my 4670.

Why make a build with DDR2 when DDR3 is the same price?

because I can.
lol
4670 will do a good 40-60fps with a 1920 resolution.
Why is DDR2 bad? Ive never known, ive just known to get ddr3
Why is DDR2 bad? Ive never known, ive just known to get ddr3
DDR2 is not bad, DDR3 is just better.
Why is DDR2 bad? Ive never known, ive just known to get ddr3
It's just kinda pointless when DDR3 is better and the same price.
Why is DDR2 bad? Ive never known, ive just known to get ddr3
basically the only reasoning to why ddr2 is bad is because it's outdated.
basically the only reasoning to why ddr2 is bad is because it's outdated.
DDR2 is by no means "bad." It's just not the best for the money.

replace "bad" with "not preferable"
OK coolio...
Guys. My friends all play GMOD on integrated graphics. All of their PCs were bought 3 + years ago and were budget when they bought them. All of this is overkill. Also which resolution do you use?
they are lieing, if someone can play gmod on integrated graphics then i am the freaking pope

No it's not overkill. You can spend $300 today and get hardware that is 10x better than hardware that cost $300 3+ years ago.
Technology has gotten cheaper and better in the past three years.
Hell, I used to max all valve games on my old 3.00GHZ intel C2D, with 4GB of ram, and a 9600GT. You can pick this stuff up really cheap now.
in my experience, gmod on integrated graphics runs slow and only in DX7 mode
