I'm gonna be in NYC tomorrow from like 11 till 9 and I need to do some paintings of urban life, buildings, people, landscape, etc. I've lived in Queens for a couple of years so I'm pretty familiar with everything in NYC, but some advice and tips on where to go would be so awesome cause last time I had no idea what to do and wasted all my time. I'm thinking Brooklyn bridge, central park, empire state building... idc I just need some pointers where to go. I'm assuming some people here would know some nice spots.
E: also if you guys know any good food place lol
Central Park is always a good place for inspiration, definitely paint some of the woodland areas of that with the skyscrapers in back, that'd be a cool pic.
Along with the Brooklyn Bridge, you could probably visit a few of the other bridges between Manhattan and Brooklyn/Queens. Also, Long Island isn't too bad if you like scenic landscapes (sans the neighborhoods, malls, and smaller cities in them.) The skyline can get pretty boring if you think about all of the other people lingering around the city and on the roof tops, painting the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center for the thousandth time.

Food you say?!
Carnegie Deli if you want a big sandwich, with good mustard. They've also got really good cheesecake.
Hit any of the Rays if you want good pizza.

City Bakery has a world famous macaroni bar as well as world famous croissants. They're supposed to have the best hot chocolate in the world, but it's way too dark for my tastes. The marshmallows are good, though.
Go to the Halal Guys at 53rd and 6th for the best street food.

Lines can get long pretty fast but it's worth the wait
Damn never been to halal guys probably going to check it out this week
Not a location to paint but a tip: Bring about $150, and scatter the money around your body in pockets so if somebody bumps into you and takes some money from your pocket, you won't lose much. Try not to spend lots of money, just buy food and maybe some souvenirs but save money in case something happens.
(Been to NYC several times since I live close there)
I've always liked Virgil's for food.
I think I'll stop at carnegie delli and city bakery as they're close to a few of the places I'm going. Hopefully I have enough time to get to all my places. What's the best spot to see Brooklyn Bridge from? Is it Dumbo?

Or a better idea, just don't bring more than $20 wherever you walk and only bring lots of money in the form of a debit card (mind you the debit card is in a closed pocket of its own).
Here's another tip: Don't give any money to anyone on the street. My friend decided to give $10 to one of those guys selling CDs on the street ("Hey man, check out my new record. What's yo name? Ima call you G-Money") because:
A. The CD is always blank, and
B. You'll get swarmed by any other CD sellers.
